Implosione

Implosione (Implosion): face with a silver gag, on a concrete block
Implosione (Implosion), detail 1Implosione (Implosion), detail 2Implosione (Implosion), detail 3

Fear.
Rage.
The impossibility of expressing oneself.

This gag is not just a limit.
It is a block that builds an armor.
Forced silence, a face divided between struggle and surrender.
Ready to implode.

The work IMPLOSION is the embodiment of the archetype of the Forced Silence. It is a visual meditation on what we cannot say and on what happens when the voice stays inside.

The gag stifles speech and breath: it is the limit we impose on ourselves or that is imposed on us. But it is not only a closing: around the silence an armor is built. The concrete and the iron rods on which the face rests are the weight of this defense, rigid and cold, against the living, tense face that struggles.

Every element is a symbol. The eyes, reflective spheres, are the only part that still speaks: they look at us and send us back to ourselves. The face divided between struggle and surrender shows the moment before the burst, when the inner pressure is at its limit.

Through this dialogue between matter and meaning, IMPLOSION offers itself as a mirror: not an answer, but an invitation to feel.

What have you been holding back for too long, and what would happen if you let it out?
