Re Mida
The work KING MIDAS is the embodiment of the archetype of the Immature Gift. It is a deep reflection on human fragility when power or goods are received without being ready to manage them, turning wealth into a prison.
This sculpture reinterprets the myth of King Midas: the golden touch is not an evil wish, but the metaphor of a power or possession acquired before the necessary inner maturity. The golden mask that shines with gold symbolizes the illusion of outward wealth, which hides a dramatic inner wear.
Every element reveals the cost of this unpreparedness. The gaze is empty, devoid of connection, while the invisible wound represents the pain caused by a gift that is undeserved or not understood. The work captures the truth that the touch that promises everything leads only to silence and isolation.
The message of KING MIDAS is a direct warning: “To have more, you must be more.” If we do not work on inner growth and self-awareness, we risk losing everything and finding ourselves back at the starting point or in a worse situation, because the gift itself becomes our sentence.
Through this dialogue between matter and meaning, KING MIDAS offers itself as a mirror: not an answer, but an invitation to feel.
What power or what “gold” do you already hold today, and what inner growth do you still need to develop in order to truly deserve it?
