Medusa
The work MODERN MEDUSA is the embodiment of the archetype of Inner Petrification. It is a powerful visual critique of theself-paralysis generated by the obsession with fleeting, passing gratification.
This sculpture reinterprets the myth of Medusa: she is not an external monster, but the metaphor of our contemporary condition. The luminous coils that surround her are not snakes, but the fleeting desires and momentary pleasures that dazzle and disorient us. The work captures the essence of the frustrating “wanting but being unable”: we are blocked and immobilized by our inability to act on our highest goals.
Every element is a trap. The eyes, made as reflective spheres, are the mirrors of this seduction: they attract us, but looking at them makes us lose our true direction. The modern Medusa does not kill, but immobilizes the will, leading to the degradation of consciousness. The work is a warning about the psychological solitude caused by the pressure of a society geared toward momentary consumption.
Through this dialogue between matter and meaning, MODERN MEDUSA offers itself as a mirror: not an answer, but an invitation to feel.
